Google Home has become very popular over the last year or two.
People love using their voice assistants to control smart devices around them. Can you listen to your favorite podcast on Google Home?
The Google Home app was introduced at CES 2017.
The device allows you to ask questions, get information, and control connected devices through your voice.
You can now download podcasts from Google Play Music directly onto your Google Home speaker.
This means you can listen to your favorite shows without having to connect to another device.
Can You Listen To Podcasts On Google Home Products?
With Google Nest and Google Home products, you can listen to your favorite podcasts and shows without having to download anything.
Just say “Hey Google,” or ‘Ok Google” to ask questions, and let your smart speaker do the rest.
You can now stream audio content directly from Google Podcasts or Spotify (also seem ‘How To Loop A Podcast On Spotify‘).

This feature allows you to play episodes of your favorite podcasts or songs from your library on Google Home and Google Nest speakers.
Google Assistant lets you control what you hear with just your voice.
To make it easier to find the content you want, you can add multiple subscriptions to your Google Account.
Now you can choose which subscription to use when you speak to Google Home or Google Nest, making sure you always hear the latest, a previous episode, or any specific podcast episode of your favorite show.
If you already subscribe to a podcast app like iTunes, you can simply link your account to Google Assistant.
Your existing subscriptions are automatically added to the same Google Account.
You Can Use Your Voice To Control Podcasts
Google Assistant now lets you use your voice to play podcasts and shows on speakers, an android phone, or displays.
You can say things like “play the latest episode of ‘Oral History of The Office'” or “next episode.”
This feature works with both Android phones and tablets and iPhones running iOS 12 or later.
Other Ways To Control Your Podcasts
Google Home devices let you interact with your favorite podcasts in different ways.
You can play, pause or stop the podcast, turn up the volume, turn down the volume, start your request, and even change the channel.

Google Home now lets you play podcasts directly from the speaker. You can use it to continue listening to your favorite shows, turn off alarms, timers, and even music playback (also see, ‘How Do I Start Listening To Podcasts‘).
Here are some tips on how to make the most out of podcasting on Google Home.
Add Podcasts To Your Home Control
If you haven’t already done so, add your favorite podcasts or a specific episode to your home speakers.
This way, you’ll be able to listen to them without having to look for the app.
Set Up Alarms And Timers
You can set up multiple alarms and timers on Google Home.
Just say “Hey Google, set my alarm for 7 am,” or “Hey Google, start recording 5 minutes.”
Change Music Volume
When listening to music on Google Home, you can change the volume by saying “Hey Google, increase the volume” or “Hey Google, decrease the volume”.
Which Devices Can You Listen To Podcast On?
Google Nest Mini
The Google Nest Mini (2gen) speaker features 2W stereo speakers and a built-in microphone.
It connects to your home Wi-Fi network and works with voice commands via Google Assistant.
Without ever having to press play, you can use it to play music, make calls, control smart devices, set timers and alarms, and stream videos and podcasts directly from YouTube Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, NPR One, SiriusXM, and others.
Google Audio Nest
The Nest Audio is a smart speaker powered by Google Home and built into a physical device that plugs into your wall outlet.
You can use it hands-free while you’re cooking dinner or listening to music.
With Nest Audio, you’ll always hear what matters most—whether it’s specific episodes from your favorite show, the news, sports scores, traffic reports, or weather forecasts.
And now, you can make calls, play music, control lights, and more without having to pick up your phone.
To access the settings, touch the device like you’re browsing the web. You’ll see a menu icon in the upper-right corner.
You’ll find options for adjusting the volume, muting the microphone, turning it on or off, and controlling the ringer.
The Google Assistant app has been updated to bring some new features to the smart speaker.
One of those features is called “Max,” which allows you to control music playback on Google Home Max through voice commands.
You’ll be able to tell it what song you want to play, how loud you’d like it, and whether you want it paused or stopped altogether.
You can even ask it to skip tracks. You can use Max to change the volume, turn off alarms, end calls, and put the device into sleep mode.
There are also options for horizontal and vertical positioning.
If you’re holding the device horizontally, you can swipe from left to right to adjust the volume; vertically, you can tap up or down to raise or lower the volume.
Google Nest Wifi Point
The Nest Wifi Point is designed to make it easier to control your home network.
You can use voice commands to play music, adjust the temperature, turn lights on and off, set timers, and even answer calls and messages.
The Nest Wifi Point connects wirelessly to your router and works with Google Home speakers, smart displays, and devices running Android 7.0 Nougat or later.
To access the features, you’ll need to download the free app on your smartphone and sign into your account.
Once you’re signed in, you can tell the Nest Wifi Point what rooms are occupied and what people are around.
Then you can say things like “turn down the thermostat,” “play some jazz,” “pause my podcast,” or “answer my email.”
Using The Displays
Google Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max feature displays that let you control the volume of each device independently.
You can use these displays to adjust the volume of one speaker while listening to music via another speaker.
These displays work across multiple rooms and even different floors in your home.
If you’re having trouble playing a particular podcast on your device, try searching it directly rather than requesting it via the podcasts’ app.
For example, say you want to listen to “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
You could type “Joe Rogan Experience” into the Search bar, which will bring up a list of episodes.
From there, tap the episode number next to the show you’d like to hear.
Alternatively, you can go straight to the podcast’s website and find the latest episode.
We hope this guide helps you get started using Google Home and other Google products.
