Can Podcasters See Who Listens To Apple Podcasts

Are you currently wondering if podcasters have the ability to view who listens to their podcasts? If you answered yes to that question, you’ve come to the right place.

As a podcast creator, analytics are highly useful, so it only makes sense that you should want to make use of as much metric data as possible, especially if you have big plans to become the creator of a widely successful podcast series.

While there are many different platforms that podcasts can be streamed on, Apple is by far one of the most popular – and for good reason, too.

On Apple Podcasts, listeners are not only able to listen to their favorite podcasts as and when they like, but they are also able to follow their favorite creators and even get alerts for new episodes.

The only question is, can podcasters see who listens to their Apple podcasts? In this post, we are going to be taking a closer look at whether or not it’s possible to directly view who is listening to your podcast on the Apple platform.

Along the way, we’ll also be sharing additional tips and tricks on how to view your podcast analytics. Read on!

Can Podcasters See Who Listens Apple Podcasts?

To  cut a long story short – no, it is not possible to directly see who is listening to your podcasts. This means that Apple will not list the names of your listeners.

However, with that being said, you will be able to access a variety of other listener metrics provided by Apple that you can then utilize to see listening trends and other important information to see how your podcast is performing.

How To See How Many Listeners A Podcast Has?

The only catch is that, as a podcast creator, you will need to make sure that you have your very own Podcasts Connect account as this is where you will be able to access all of the relevant listener information (as well aso other relevant metric information) this brings us to our next section.

What Is Apple Podcasts Connect Account?

If you want to be able to view your podcast metrics, you’re going to need to make sure you have an Apple Podcasts Connect account. This is essentially an online dashboard where you will be able to submit all of your podcasts.

As well as this, you will also have the ability to access all of the relevant data that will allow you to manage your shows, as well as monitor the performance of them, too.

Even though there is no way of finding out the identity of users who are listening to your podcast show on an iphone, you will have the ability to view  a variety of different insights that will be able to indicate to you how well your podcast is doing, as well as other useful information.

This includes a variety of different listener insights that range from where in the world your listeners are from, how long your listeners tend to listen to your podcasts, the ages of your listeners as well as a variety of other listener insights, too.

This brings us to our next point.

What Metrics Do Apple Provide?

What Metrics Do Apple Provide?

Now that we have covered whether or not you can view who listens to your podcasts, as well as how you can go about viewing them – we are now going to be covering in more detail what type of metrics or statistics you can view as a Podcast creator on Apple. Let’s check them out below:

The Time Spent Listening To Your Podcast

One of the biggest (and most important) listeners metrics that Apple shares with their podcast creators is the amount of time each listener spends listening to each podcast episode.

This is super useful and can be used to help improve the quality of the content you include in your podcast, as you will be able to see areas that listeners enjoyed, as well as areas that they might not have enjoyed as much.

A Breakdown Of Listeners Who Are Followers And Not Followers

Another awesome listener metric that Apple provides is the ability to see a breakdown of the amount of listeners that are following your podcast, as well as the amount of listeners that are not following your podcast show.

The Amount Of Followers You Have Per Show

Along with all of the above, you might also be interested to learn that Apple also provides podcast creators with the ability to see insight into how many followers they have per episode.

The Amount Of Followers Earned Between Shows

As well as being able to view how many followers you have per show, Apple also provides you with the ability to view how many followers that your podcast has earned in-between episodes, too.

This is an awesome way to track the growth of your podcast. You can also set follower count in a variety of different time frames including one week, one month, 60 days and of all time.

The Top Cities And Countries Your Listeners Are From

Along with all of the metric information that we have already shared with you above, as an Apple podcast creator you will even have the ability to view the top cities and countries that your listeners are situated in.

This will be provided on screen as a drop down list which you will be able to expand should you wish to view additional cities and countries that ranked lower down on the list.

It is important to note that all of the follower metrics that you will be able to view (as well as other metrics that provide insight into listener trends) will be private.

This means that only the creator of the podcast will be provided with all of this information, and it will never be shared elsewhere by Apple or made available for the public to view.
